Available Automation Actions

Understand the actions you can trigger in workflow automation rules.

What this does

Actions are what your automation rules do when they fire. You can chain multiple actions together in a single rule.

Available actions

  • Send Email — send a template email to the contact
  • Create Deal — automatically create a deal for the contact
  • Update Contact — change a field on the contact (e.g. set type to Customer)
  • Assign Owner — assign the contact or deal to a team member
  • Add to Sequence — enrol the contact in an email sequence
  • Create Task — create a reminder task for a team member
  • Send Webhook — send data to an external URL (Zapier, Make, etc.)
  • Delay — wait a set period before running the next action
  • Send Notification — notify a team member via in-app notification

Step by step

  1. Inside a workflow rule, click + Add Action
  2. Select the action type
  3. Configure the action:
    • For emails, choose a template
    • For assignments, select a team member or use round-robin
    • For delays, set hours or days
  4. Add more actions if needed — they run in sequence
  5. Click Save

Tips

  • Use delays between actions for natural-feeling follow-ups
  • Round-robin assignment distributes leads evenly across your team
  • Webhook actions let you connect to any external tool
