Understanding the Activity Timeline

View the full history of interactions on a contact or deal.

What this does

The activity timeline shows a chronological list of every interaction logged against a contact or deal — calls, emails, meetings, notes, and system events.

When to use it

Check the timeline before reaching out to a contact so you know what's been discussed previously.

What you'll see

Each entry shows:

  • Activity type — call, email, meeting, note, or system event
  • Date and time — when it happened
  • Who logged it — team member name
  • Subject and notes — summary of the interaction

Step by step

  1. Open a contact or deal record
  2. Scroll down to the Activity section
  3. Activities are listed newest first
  4. Click any activity to expand its full details
  5. Use the filter buttons to show only specific types (calls, emails, etc.)

Tips

  • System events (stage changes, deal created) are logged automatically
  • The timeline is shared — all team members see the same history
  • Use the timeline to prepare for calls and avoid repeating conversations
