How to Log a Phone Call

Record a phone call against a contact or deal.

What this does

Logs a phone call as an activity on a contact or deal record. This creates a timestamped entry in the activity timeline.

When to use it

Log a call after every phone conversation to keep a record of what was discussed.

Step by step

  1. Open the contact or deal record
  2. Click the Log Activity button
  3. Select Call as the activity type
  4. Fill in the details:
    • Subject — brief summary (e.g. "Follow-up on proposal")
    • Notes — key points discussed
    • Duration — length of the call
    • Outcome — Connected, Voicemail, No Answer
  5. Click Save

Tips

  • Log calls immediately after they happen so you don't forget details
  • Activities logged on a contact also appear on linked deals
  • Use the Cmd+K command palette to quickly log an activity from anywhere
