Creating Your First Deal

Create your first deal and start tracking it through your pipeline.

What this does

A deal represents a potential sale or opportunity. Deals move through your pipeline stages from first contact to close.

When to use it

Create a deal whenever you have a new opportunity to track — a sales lead, a project enquiry, or a service request.

Step by step

  1. Click Deals in the main menu
  2. Click the + New Deal button
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Deal Name — a short description (e.g. "Smith Website Redesign")
    • Value — the expected revenue
    • Contact — link to an existing contact or create one inline
    • Stage — select the starting pipeline stage
  4. Click Save

What happens next

Your deal appears on the pipeline kanban board. You can:

  • Drag it between stages as it progresses
  • Log activities against it
  • Mark it as won or lost when it closes

Tips

  • Set realistic values — your dashboard KPIs depend on accurate deal amounts
  • Link every deal to a contact for complete relationship tracking
  • Use the quick-create (+) button in the top nav to add deals from anywhere
