How to Create a Deal

Create a deal to track an opportunity through your sales pipeline.

What this does

A deal represents a sales opportunity with an expected value, linked to a contact and a pipeline stage.

When to use it

Create a deal whenever you have a new opportunity — a sales enquiry, a project proposal, or a service request.

Step by step

  1. Go to Deals in the main menu
  2. Click + New Deal
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Deal Name — short description of the opportunity
    • Value — expected revenue amount
    • Contact — the person or company involved
    • Pipeline — select which pipeline (if you have multiple)
    • Stage — the current stage
    • Expected Close Date — when you expect to close
    • Lead Source — how this opportunity originated
  4. Click Save

Tips

  • Link every deal to a contact for complete tracking
  • Set realistic values — your forecasts depend on accurate amounts
  • Use the quick-create (+) button in the nav to add deals from any page
  • You can create multiple deals for the same contact
