What this does
GPS verification checks that a worker is physically at (or near) their assigned work site when they clock in or out. IP tracking provides an additional layer of verification.
How it works
- When a worker clocks in, their GPS coordinates are captured
- The system compares their location to the site's registered coordinates
- If the worker is within the configured radius, the clock event is approved
- If outside the radius, the event is flagged for manager review
Configuration
- Go to Settings > Sites
- For each site, set:
- GPS Coordinates — the site's latitude and longitude
- Radius — acceptable distance from coordinates (default: 100 metres)
- Enable IP Tracking if you want to also log the worker's IP address
- Click Save
Tips
- GPS accuracy depends on the worker's device — outdoor locations are more accurate than indoor
- Set a larger radius for sites with large premises or poor GPS signal
- Flagged events aren't rejected — they're highlighted for manager review
- GPS pings are also recorded during shifts for ongoing location verification
