What this does
Displays every account in your chart of accounts, grouped by type. Each account has a code, name, and type that determines where it appears in your reports. Relentify sets up a standard chart when you create your organisation, and you can add your own accounts as needed.
When to use it
Review your chart of accounts when setting up your business, creating journal entries, or checking which accounts are available for categorising transactions.
Step by step
- Go to Chart of Accounts from the main navigation
- You will see all accounts listed with their code, name, and type
- Use the search bar to find a specific account by name or code
- Filter by account type to narrow the list
- Note the code ranges that determine account type:
- 1000-1999 — Assets (bank accounts, trade debtors, stock)
- 2000-2999 — Liabilities (trade creditors, VAT, loans)
- 3000-3999 — Equity (share capital, retained earnings)
- 4000-4999 — Income (sales, other revenue)
- 5000-6999 — Cost of Goods Sold (materials, direct labour)
- 7000-9998 — Expenses (rent, utilities, wages, marketing)
- Click any account row to see its transaction history
- To add a new account, click Create Account and assign a code within the correct range
- Inactive accounts are greyed out but still visible — toggle the filter to hide them
