How to View the General Ledger

View full transaction history per account with date and source filters.

What this does

Shows every transaction posted to a specific account, in date order. You can filter by date range and transaction source to find exactly what you need, and export the results to CSV.

When to use it

Use the general ledger when you need to trace a specific posting, investigate an account balance, or provide detailed records to your accountant.

Step by step

  1. Go to Reports and select General Ledger
  2. Choose the Account you want to view from the dropdown
  3. Set the From and To dates to narrow the period
  4. Optionally filter by Source (e.g. invoices, bills, journals)
  5. Click Run Report
  6. Review the list of transactions with dates, references, debits, and credits
  7. Click any transaction row to open the original document
  8. To save a copy, click Export CSV
